Different from other LED or Laser-LED systems on the market, the Octoplus compact SPL allows for high-power homogenous fluorescence image acquisition over a large area of up to 16 x 18cm.
When fluorescence conjugated secondaries come to their limit (they do, when a Western Blot target is really low abundant), the high-sensitivity chemiluminescence detection of the Octoplus compact SPL will help.

The different imaging modi are very easy to set-up and be performed automatically by the system. The very robust device can be configured specifically according to your needs.
Reliable (quantitative) Western Blots using SPL
In order to achieve reliable data in differences of abundancy of a specific protein (target protein), the analysis require proper normalisation.
The Octoplus compact SPL is enabled for the patented Smart Protein Layers (SPL) Technology for quantitative Western Blot analysis. By using SPL the amount of detected target protein is normalized to the amount of corresponding protein sample at the same time.
Why at the same time?
After transfer to a blotting membrane (NC, PVDF) the proteins are bound in a non-covalent manner. As proteins 30-70% of the proteins are washed away from the membrane during WB procedure, target and reference proteins should be detected at the same moment to achieve accurate quantification.
